Hello,
I am a French fan of the Great Patriotic War and more particularly of Operation Barbarossa.
There is a long time, I make a web site on this subject :
https://barbarossa.pagesperso-orange.fr/
Currently I would like to write an article about the capture of the Brest-Litovsk fortress.
I have the records of the 45. I.D. recovered from the American archives.
I will be in Vilnius for 3 months for work. And I wonder about the possibility of crossing the border from Poland and visiting this site.
Thank you for your attention and I apologize for my poor English language.
Philippe

hello,
Currently I would like to write an article about the capture of the Brest-Litovsk fortress.
Sure we would like to help you, but this theme is really too big for the article
I have the records of the 45. I.D. recovered from the American archives.
Are they something different from we can see in YouTube?
I will be in Vilnius for 3 months for work. And I wonder about the possibility of crossing the border from Poland and visiting this site.
In our turbulent time conditions at Belarus border can be changed in a short time. Nobody knew what will be tomorrow. Even entered Belarus you can have problem to go out.

Thank you Igor For your Answer.
To be exact this article could be divided into 3 or 4 parts published each month in a historical journal.
Of course I know about the political situation but I'd like to use with my trip in Vilnius for next 3 months.
I talk about roll of microfilm from NARA with thousands of originals documents.
I will try to put a sample.

Excuse me, it's from "45 I.D. (Ia): Kriegstagebuch vom 21. Juni-17. November 1941"
Do you have a book of K.Gancer "Brest. Summer 1941"?

it looks we have information from this report (from R.Aliev) but not the text itself
-
Hello Igor,
There is a misunderstanding. I have the original text from the archives of 45.ID and 18.Pz-Div. from microfilm archived in the American archives.
And the examples I provided are from that source.
I also have the nominal list of German losses of 22.06.1941 at this battle for example.
And I would like to find Soviet archives and exchange our informations. But I suspect you all have other priorities to manage right now...
I don't know this book, but I would like to do an original work without being influenced by other authors.

https://www.degruyter.com/document/doi/10.1515/mgzs-2019-0102/html
Kristian Gancer [= Christian Ganzer] [u. a.], Brest, leto 1941 g. Dokumenty, Materialy, Fotografii
This book is collection of 45 I.D. documents in German with translation to Russian According to russian archives, if we speak about 1941, the quantity of info is close to nothing. There are two reasons:
1. no one in the fortress recorded the course of events, only one document is known - Order number 1.
2. the memoirs of the defenders are mostly inaccessible because, if published, they can harm the official version of the defense.
I should explane the situation. There are two version of brest fortress defence-1941.
1. Oficial geroic version reliased in communists period and supported by existing goverments.
2. Historical version studied on this site.
The common between them - place and names, not more than that.

I discover a high quality picture in archives.
